May 6, 2015—ZOLL Medical Corporation teamed up with Boston’s Channel 7 to honor the Watertown Police Department with the donation of an AED Plus® for One Boston Day.

The first annual One Boston Day on April 15 marked the two-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing. The Watertown Police were heavily involved in the shootout and eventual capture of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, which took place in Watertown.

Watertown Police Chief Ed Deveau said his department was in need of lifesaving equipment, and ZOLL gladly donated the equipment when asked by 7News.

Watertown Police already have AED Plus units, which have been used several times to revive patients in sudden cardiac arrest.

"To get another one donated by Channel 7 and by ZOLL Medical, it's only going to save more lives, and that's just a great thing," said Officer John MacLellan, who was in charge of the scene in Watertown as Tsarnaev and his brother tried to avoid capture.
