Missouri SCA Victim Saved Twice Wearing LifeVest

LifeVest illustrationDecember 23, 2010 - A St. Louis, Missouri, resident had his life saved twice from sudden cardiac arrest because he was wearing the ZOLL® LifeVest®.

Terry Turnquist had to have his implantable defibrillator temporarily removed due to a staph infection. His cardiologist, Dr. Preben Bjerregaard, prescribed him the LifeVest wearable defibrillator to protect him from sudden cardiac arrest until he could be re-implanted with an ICD. Six weeks later, Mr. Turnquist experienced two separate episodes of cardiac arrest within one week. The LifeVest detected the arrhythmias and then delivered lifesaving treatment shocks.
