A Valentine Gift for the Heart from Hearts 4 Hockey

Hearts 4 Hockey

Tyler Symes, a 16-year-old high school hockey player from Milford, Mass., almost died last year when a hockey puck struck him in the chest, and his heart stopped. CPR and an  automated external defibrillator (AED) helped save his life. Sean Burns, 14 and also a hockey player, heard Symes' story and started Hearts4Hockey, with the goal of bringing AEDs to all high school hockey teams in central Massachusetts. To date, Hearts4Hockey has donated 10 defibrillators to schools with the help of local businesses. On Valentine’s Day, ZOLL donated an AED Plus® to Hearts4Hockey, which presented the AED to Northbridge High School during their team’s hockey practice.
